CMD ist eine Störung des Zusammenwirkens von Zähnen, Kaumuskeln und Kiefergelenken. Die Ursachen der CMD sind vielfältig, am häufigsten liegen Veränderungen des Bewegungsapparates vor. Es können aber auch Faktoren, wie Stress, psychische Probleme, sowie systemische Erkrankungen eine Rolle spielen, zum Beispiel Rheuma, Psoriasis oder eine Borreliose. Schmerzen im Gesichtsbereich, Geräusche in den Kiefergelenken sowie Einschränkungen der Unterkieferbeweglichkeit stellen wichtige Symptome der CMD dar. Häufig treten aber auch unspezifische Symptome auf, wie Schwindel, Nacken- und Rückenschmerzen.
Die MRT nimmt in der Abklärung der CMD eine zunehmend größere Rolle ein. Sie ermöglicht die Darstellung nicht nur knöcherne Strukturen (wie im Röntgen oder per Computertomographie) sondern auch den Bandapparat, die Kapsel und den Diskus. Die MRT wird in verschiedenen Kieferstellungen durchgeführt: bei geschlossener Mund und maximaler Mundöffnung. So können Veränderungen auch unter Belastung beurteilt werden. Die Untersuchung wird in der Regel in Rückenlage durchgeführt und dauert ungefähr 30 Minuten.
Die MRT Untersuchungen des Kiefers bei ARISTRA werden in Zusammenarbeit mit international anerkannten Experten und Expertinnen für die Kopf-Hals- und Kieferbildgebung fortlaufend weiterentwickelt. So können die Aufnahmen vor Ort mit modernster Aufnahmetechnik und nach neuestem Stand der Wissenschaft angefertigt werden. Die Auswertung Ihrer Aufnahmen wird durch unsere Spezialisten und Spezialistinnen durchgeführt.
