Christoph Agten is an expert in musculoskeletal radiology. He studied at the University of Bern and completed his medical studies there in 2007. He completed his first medical residency at the Cantonal Hospital of Lucerne in Switzerland. He graduated summa cum laude at the top of his class in 2013. For this, he won the examination prize of the Swiss Society of Radiology.
After his medical residency, Dr. Agten completed a research fellowship and a clinical fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at Balgrist University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2015 and 2016, Dr. Agten traveled to the United States with the support of the Swiss National Science Foundation. There he completed a research fellowship at the New York University in musculoskeletal radiology.
His research focus was on the field of osteoporosis, with the resulting paper being published in the journal "Radiology" the most prestigious journal within the field of radiology.
Dr. Agten has authored over 40 scientific publications in total, thereof 18 as the lead author. He completed the postdoctoral habilitation degree at the University of Zurich in 2019.
Since 2018, Dr. Agten has been living in England. He works as an expert in musculoskeletal radiology for hospitals and private radiology institutes in Switzerland. He is one of the co-founders of ARISTRA and is the head of teleradiology, providing his knowledge to our patients as an international expert.
Dr. Agten is passionate about education and shares his knowledge with radiologists from all around the world. He maintains the largest YouTube channel on musculoskeletal radiology. Once a week, he posts a video on musculoskeletal imaging. With his book "SPEED - MSK Radiology" Dr. Agten is also a best-selling author on Amazon and regularly gives lectures at national and international congresses and events.
His current focus is magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) diagnostics of all joints and the spine.
